sunbeams blind the fools on asphalt
but from a source artificial,
a jolly man affixed on marigold board
pledges of greatness from a third storey
two thumbs up to hide the fraudulence
yet we saw that it was good.

foliage shades the fools in lounges
but regardless placards reflect,
green renewal relies on pristine soil
reap your descendants' serendipity
or power motion out of crudeness
yet we saw that it was good.

plaster absorbs the fools at loss
but the gaps grow ever larger,
across the tar leave that edwardian
embrace erosion in what you're given
it's a cycle you won't escape from
yet we saw that it was good.
